Morgan Harper grew up in Columbus, Ohio. She was born at Ohio State University Hospital and spent time in a foster home before being adopted and raised on the East side of Columbus by a Columbus public school teacher. Her mother was an immigrant from Trinidad and worked hard to support Morgan and her brother. After receiving financial aid to attend Columbus Academy, Morgan developed a commitment to fight against inequality and work toward opening the doors to opportunity for others. She strongly believes that, when equipped with the right tools, all people can have opportunities regardless of upbringing. With the help of scholarship programs, Morgan was able to attain a Masters in Public Policy from Princeton and a law degree from Stanford. After graduating, she spent three years at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau CFPB , where she worked to protect consumers against predatory lending practices. Morgan has been focused on fighting to help families with real kitchen table issues.
